Ingredients

shelled green peas

onion
(100 grams)

refined oil

butter
(optional)
salt to taste
Instructions
Peel and chop onion
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the chopped onions. Add the butter for extra flavor and sauté with a pinch of salt until soft
Add peas. Cook until soft with 2 cups water. Cool. Reserve 1 Tablespoon cooked peas for garnishing
Strain the cooked peas and onion and reserve the liquid
Puree the cooked vegetables
Add enough liquid to make it 1 litre (1000 ml) and add pureed peas
Add salt to taste and bring to a boil
Serve plain or with croutons after garnishing with the reserved peas
