Orange Chocolate Cake
This is a moist fragrant cake with a distinct orange flavor. It is delicious served as a tea/coffee cake without any frosting. I used mandarin oranges which have an intense sweet flavor but any fresh oranges will do.

orange essence

fresh orange juice

grated orange rind
Instructions
Grate the orange rind before squeezing the fresh orange juice to get 2 to 3 tablespoons of rind.
Cut the oranges into 2 and extract 80ml juice
Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, icing sugar and salt twice. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
Mix together oil, eggs, yogurt and orange essence. Add to the flour mixture and beat until mixed.
Heat orange juice and water until warm.
Add to the flour, egg and oil mixture and beat until smooth
Pour into greased and floured cake tin and bake for 40 minutes or until done in a medium oven.
Cool and remove from cake tin. It should be moist but done.
Serve plain without frosting.
