Ingredients

candied fruit and seedless dates

Instructions
Sieve the flour with 1 teaspoon baking powder. Transfer to a large bowl.
Add castor sugar, eggs, soft butter and spice powder. Beat well for 5 minutes.
Chop candied fruits and dates, dust with a little flour and fold into cake mixture.
Transfer to a lined, greased and floured tin.
Bake in a moderate oven for about 45 minutes or until done.
Cool for at least 30 minutes and remove from cake tin.
Recipe Notes
If candied fruits are not available, raisins can be substituted together with seedless dates.
