Ingredients

grated parmesan or pecorino cheese
Instructions
Cut tomatoes into wedges and puree in liquidizer with the dried and fresh chopped herbs. Keep aside a few leaves of basil for garnishing.
Heat oil and add crushed garlic. Sauté for a minute and add tomato puree, sugar, salt, pepper and chilli powder (optional) and continue cooking for a few minutes. Switch off heat after 2 minutes.
Boil water with 1 tablespoon of salt and a few drops of oil in a large vessel. Add Spirali pasta and cook till done. Drain.
Mix cooked Spirali pasta with the seasoned tomato, basil sauce.
Cut the ham into small pieces. Mix half into the Pasta and sprinkle the rest on top.
Garnish with a few fresh basil leaves.
Serve with a generous sprinkling of grated cheese.
